C-talk
------

This is a TOS program that can be started from a terminal
program, which divides the terminal window both on your
own computer as well as on the host's into two areas, so
that one can 'chat' with the other party.

Calling in CoNnect:

CTALK.TOS must be placed in the CoNnect directory.
One of the function keys (e.g. F8) has the text
    ctalk
assigned to it and the left CoSHy button of this key is
 activated.

Then one can use this function key (e.g. F8) to switch to
the chat-mode without the other party needing to have their
own chat-mode facilities. It only needs to have a working
 vt100 emulation.

PLEASE MAKE SURE that before calling it a connection has been
established already - one doesn't chat too well with one's own
modem and ctalk will then spray some characters around wildly.

Calling from other terminal programs:

Theoretically, Ctalk can be called also from within other
terminal programs. They only have to be capable of running
TOS programs under vt100 emulation. If one has installed
vt100.prg in the AUTO folder, which replaces the built-in
Atari vt52 emulation with vt100, then one can also start
   c-talk directly.

Terminal size:

C-talk obtains the terminal size on a running computer from
the environment variables LINES (or ROWS) and COLUMNS, or
assumes 24 x 80. At the other end the cursor is set to the
position 255/255 (the lower right corner) and then the
  current cursor position is requested.

Quitting:

C-Talk is terminated with ^C. Both sides taking part in the
  chat can do this.

Error messages::

      'Bad vt-emulation'

The vt100 emulation of the other party has too many
         errors for C-Talk.

      'Timeout'

The connection seems to have been broken off.
