    screen during the second part of the boot process and the computer 
    will apparently hang. Should this happen, just press any key and

Capabilities
    
    Driver for serial MS-DOS mice - Microsoft, MouseSystems and
    LOGITECH - on any desired RS232 port of ST, TT, Falcon and
    Mega STE.
    
    Driver for a joystick as mouse emulation.
    
    Assignment of right or centre mouse-button to various functions, 
    and swap-over of the mouse-buttons (for left-handed users), 
    naturally settable separately for each program. 
    
    The whole thing is garnished with a freely programmable mouse 
    accelerator with intergated "screen wrapping" for all mice. If 
    the mouse pointer reaches the edge of the screen, a light "push"
    suffices and the pointer appears again on the opposite edge of 
    the screen! Users of large monitors will find this particularly 
    useful, saving an orgy of mouse movement.

Installation
    
    Wrap-Mouse consists of two parts, "WM.PRG" for the AUTO folder 
    and "WRAP_CPX.CPX" for XCONTROL {Translator's note: This CPX 
    does NOT work with COPS! ZCONTROL works in a way when run as a 
    program, not ACC, though the opening dialog does not disappear 
    after clicking its "OK" button so you can't get to the main CPX 
    window. However, with MagiC, you can use the "tidy up" menu 
    entry to get rid of this Info dialog. But it's best to stick to 
    XCONTROL when this package is being used!}
    
    First of all you should remove ALL mouse accelerators or mouse 
    drivers from your system, or deactivate them. WARNING! Often 
    some of these are hidden also in various tools such as NVDI, say.
    Only then install "WM.PRG" in the AUTO folder. "WRAP_CPX.CPX" 
    should be copied to where all your other CPX modules are 
    (usually in C:\CPX\) and you should then perform a cold reboot. 
    IMPORTANT: Without XCONTROL and "WRAP_CPX.CPX" nothing works, so 
    always load XCONTROL.ACC!
    
    Now try to move your mouse pointer off the edge of the screen. 
    If it appears again at the opposite edge, then the installation 
    has been successful first time!
    
    If you want to connect an MS-DOS mouse, or adapt Wrap-Mouse more 
    to your personal requirements, bring XCONTROL into play. The 
    control module can be found under "WRAP Mouse 1.5".
    
    
The main dialog
    
    "Swap buttons [On/Off]": The action of the mouse-buttons is 
    swapped over, which is of particular interest for left-handed 
    people. Click on the popup button and then on "On" or "Off".
    
    "Joystick mouse [On/Off]": The joystick as a mouse replacement, 
    useful for drawing straight lines in graphics programs etc. 
    Unfortunately the "Fire" button on the Atari is the same as the 
    right mouse-button - why only the gods know - but thanks to the 
    "Swap buttons" feature this should not be a problem.
     
    "Serial mouse [On/Off]": Those wanting to connect a serial mouse 
    should set this point to "On". ATTENTION! Changes from "Off" to 
    "On" will only be recognized after rebooting Wrap-Mouse.
    
    WARNING! Due to its persistence, XCONTROL's RS232 (Serial 
    Setter) module may give rise to problems at times. That CPX 
    mercilessly overwrites the Wrap-Mouse settings!!! If this is 
    being used, you should ensure that the port where the serial 
    mouse is connected has its parameters set to: 1200 bps, 8 Bits 
    (with LOGI 7 Bits), Parity None, 1 Stop Bit and FlowCTRL None. 
    If you don't use data communication you can also delete the 
    "Serial" module.
    
    "Right mouse-button": Who has not been annoyed that the right 
    (and, if present, a centre) mouse-button is practically useless 
    on an Atari? Here you can make this up: From now on the right 
    mouse-button can act as either of the two Shift, Alternate or 
    Control keys. To select several files on the desktop you no 
    longer need to move the fingers to the keyboard - they can stay 
    on the mouse. As an extra feature, you can also make it simulate 
    a double-click of the left mouse-button. Because a double-click 
    is only triggered when the button is released, keyboard and 
    double-click emulation (e.g.Shift+double-click) can be used 
    together.
    
    "Program setup": Some (few) programs use the right mouse-button 
    for their own functions. So that you don't have to switch off 
    the emulations manually each time conflicts arise, there is room 
    here for 20 individual configurations of "Right mouse-button" 
    and "Swap buttons": Clicking on the "General" button opens a 
    popup menu in which you can enter programs with "New", which 
    calls the file selector to locate the relevant program. The 
    "General" settings will apply when a program that is NOT in the 
    list is active. To remove a program from the list, select it in 
    the popup while holding down the Shift key.
    
    "Save", "OK" und "Cancel" follow the usual CPX rules.
    
    
The RS232 dialog

    This is reached by clicking on "RS232" just below the title bar 
    and then on "Settings" in the popup menu.

    Depending on the computer in use, under "Port" you can select 
    the desired interface for the mouse connection.

    In the "Mouse type" popup you can select the type of mouse you 
    are using. These can be Microsoft-, MouseSystems- or LOGITECH 
    (LOGI)-compatible mice.
    
    As a small rule of thumb: Two buttons = Microsoft, three buttons 
    = MouseSystems and if somewhere it says "LOGI" then there is 
    probably LOGI in it. Proud owners of a three-button mouse have 
    the best of both worlds - the settings under "Right mouse-button"
    then apply for the centre button, and the far right one functions 
    as usual.
    
    ATTENTION! The "Port" settings are only recognized after a new 
    boot of Wrap-Mouse.
    
    Due to the operating system some MS-DOS mice tend to be a bit 
    jittery - the mouse pointer does not move smoothly across the 
    screen but tends to move in a series of small jumps. To pacify 
    the Atari-pampered eye, you should switch the "Smoothe" popup to 
    "On" in such a case. This reduces the jerkiness by about a half.
    
    "Back" returns you to the main CPX dialog.
    
    
The SPEEDER dialogs
    
    As already mentioned, Wrap-Mouse also contains an accelerator 
    for our favourite rodent. Due to their differing characteristics,
    the kind and type of the dynamic acceleration can be set 
    separately for Atari, Serial and Joystick mice. The appropriate 
    dialogs are called up in the popup menu that opens when you 
    click on "SPEEDER" below the title bar.
    
    On the right of the dialog you can see two rows of sliders with 
    which you can program the acceleration dynamics individually. 
    The top row contains the threshold values, which determine from 
    when onwards the acceleration factors set in the bottom row (20 
    corresponds to a doubling) come into play; this permits the 
    creation of virtually any desired dynamic. With the Joystick 
    mouse the first, top slider has a special function: It 
    determines the delay before the mouse pointer may move by 
    several pixels. With a value of 0 the movement by just one pixel 
    is only suitable for joystick acrobats.
    
    The left part of the dialog is reserved for the feature from 
    which this package takes its name - "wrapping". So as not to 
    have to send the mouse constantly on unnecessary circular trips 
    on the screen, you can use the four sliders separately for each 
    screen edge to set the "pressure" required for "tunnelling 
    through" to the other side (quantum physicists will forgive me 
    using this phrase, I hope!)

    {Translator's note: Unlike normal GEM sliders, all the values in 
    this dialog can be altered only by clicking on the end arrows - 
    not by dragging the field containing the value or clicking in 
    the slider bar.}

    Those who don't need the wrapping or accelerator features (which 
    I find quite incomprehensible) can deactivate these functions 
    with "Wrap [On/Off]" or "Speeder [On/Off]" respectively.
